Hello all,

I have for the last 3 years, have enjoyed 10 acres on a mtn top in central Utah. a bit of a burn scar, but I love it. Its time to build a cabin (taking my sweet time for cost and time). I am buying the 1.5 story cottage today. But I wanted to make sure that in 2023 I can still take the PDF I am buying and make changes to things like window opening (I work for an electrochromic window company so tinting windows will be so cool on a cabin but I only have 1 size that I get to take from work).
Main question is, How do I take a PDF and make changes to the plan? I noticed many links to software to edit the plans purchased on this site, are not working anymore. The software is hard to find as well. Is there a new program that edits the PDF? or just use adobe?

I hope I don't sound stupid. I am excited to start the build and will upload picks of the property, view, sunset. soon. Thank you all!!!!

Hi Justin,

If you're on a Mac, you could use Preview to markup the document with your changes: https://support.apple.com/guide/preview/welcome/mac

A PDF isn't necessarily meant to be editable, but Preview works well for straight-forward edits (adding text and shapes, etc.). Here's a link to instructions about what it can do: https://support.apple.com/guide/preview/annotate-a-pdf-prvw11580/mac

To go the non-digital route, you can print it out and use a copy machine as your draftsman: https://www.countryplans.com/landkit/copier.htm
