I wonder how this can be if the government wants these things plugged in for surveillance. Surely the power companies and the government are working together here.

Hmmm. Maybe not everything contains a government conspiracy?   :D

I was listening to a radio commerical about saving power that claimed phantom power was one of the worst cases of wasting energy...they want to get people to unplug things like the television when not in use...

I don't think the line is that fine and most will not do it anyway.

It is just a few of a multitude of ways it can be done along with all of the old proven ways....such as....every word we type right at this moment is being chewed up and analyzed....

Linked previously I think -- list of methods

How could they have not listed Echelon? hmm

Must have missed a lot more too.

I'm going back to oil candles and an ice box. These damn cfl's might be spying on me.

Scott, in reality there is quite a neat little PC board in the CFL's.  Why didn't I think of that... It would be nothing to add a communications chip in them and of course the Gov is pushing them... hmm

Now you have given me more to check out, Scott.  Can't have any nude pix of me mysteriously appearing on the net.... [crz]

BTW Glenn, the government isn't the only one spying.

This is a couple of minutes out of two hours. I was at the Celtic Festival and just had to try out my hat mount for mt Stealth Epic.

A little pricey for me, Whitlock.

Peter, the links above had the interactive TV in them --- everybody and their dog was in on them for spying- sellers - statisticers - everyone.

Rude Comments? You? hmm  Probably about like me... rofl

Spy gear is really cheap now.  You can even get a service to spy on and rat your own kids out.  Grrrreat.... glad I'm no longer a kid...

I wonder what would happen....

If you made a complete tin foil mask - safe of course- ears out - eyes out - nose holes etc, and went around in public that way....

I don't think I'll try it....

Well......

OK ...

but just this once...

only for you....

but not in public...

Just a suggestion...

If you try this, I would advise taking it off before cutting the holes...  [crz]

A room constructed with shielding so radio waves cannot enter or leave it. No electronic eavesdropping possible. No listening to talk radio, GPS won't work, cell phone won't work, that kind of stuff.

To anyone reading this topic .... a member got upset and took to wholesale deletion of his posts... that's why there is some discontinuity in many topics.

Thank you, Peter.  I try.   I really really try... rofl

Peter, steel rooms and heavy beams and girders around you are also considered unhealthy by some - in particular, Mike Oehler.  He calls them Faraday Cages.  I'm not studied up on them.  I understand they can interfere with brain waves - also electric... [crz]

Foil Doesn't work against all scanners Glenn.

This quote will help you make a proper helmet.

I make helmets out of em. An armadillo shell is one of the only helmets that will block brain waves. Also make a pretty good soup bowl.

Hey maybe we should all build our homes radio wave proof...Wouldn't that  eliminate big brother from listening in?

I have built a few of these rooms. they were built out of  3x3x1/8 in. tubing for the framing With 1/8 in. sheet steel welded up solid. Basically they are a big square water tank. Over 3 miles of weld in the last one we built. No pin holes in the welds or the room will not pass.Big money for the doors. They are built similar to a large safe door. The big money is in the way they seal there is 8k gold moldings that are attached to the door and the door frame when the door is closed they line up kind of like a reverse dovetail joint. We never did the doors But I was there when they were installing  one on one of the rooms and I asked if I could hold one of the 8k gold moldings. It was a small one and just by guessing I would say it weighed about 30 pounds!
Before you ask I only saw what was going on in one room that we had built. It seems someone had drilled a hole in the room to bring in some wiring. I was there to weld up the hole.
In this room they were doing laser testing. The room was 40x60 and at two corners and in the center of the room they had large crystals set up on pedestals with wires going to one or all of them I don't remember. The room was covered with large egg crate type material on the walls and at the other end of the room there were a lot of computers built into the walls.
