Title: Deer Makes Fence Jumping Appear to be easy
Post by: MountainDon on September 12, 2010, 08:20:58 PM
another shot from my new game trail position. That's facing south into the national forest on the other side.  6:35 AM a week ago   The barbed wire fence may be a tad difficult to see until he jumps.

Don it never ceases to amaze me how effortless they can clear a fence.  I see it several times a day along my driveway with a split rail fence.  I run cattle on one side and have barb wire along the bottom and the other side I don't.  The little yearlings just crawl under the one side but have to work to get over the other top rail.  The does that jump can do it shall I say "flat footed" on in their case flat hoofed without any run distance.  But they are so used to us now they just run up to the fence from the driveway and wait until we pass by and continue their foraging. Nice 6pt.
