Title: A 3rd floor the hard way.

Little nuts , OK way nuts but she , the home owner couldn't be talked out of it.

  Up on a hill , solid rock ridge.  Hold house in place , remove foundation , add steel beams , new foundation , drainage etc.

The excavator been under there for about a month chipping with a small track hoe and a Bobcat to gain the "extra" four feet of elevation    to allow for "new" ceiling height.

  Quite a process!

Well it keeps life interesting eh? Holy moly I can't imagine the bill on this one!

There's a house near here that was done that way. You can tell by looking at it that something just isn't quite right.

I love tearing things up.  Quite a bit of dirt work coming up here to keep me occupied though.  [ouch]

Looks like quite the project.  :o

Too bad they didn't start this in the spring, this weather can't be helping any.
