Here's a pic of my shop, on this lovely morning of Dec 18, 2007.
Just a reminder to those numerous unlucky souls of this forum residing in perpetual sunshine: Winter Solstice celebrations, about to happen in a couple of days, are not the same when the winter element is removed!
That said, I did turn back to the blazing hearth for another round of coffee before braving the 50' slog out to the shop.

very comphy looking......ahh, the country life. I'm always learning something though. We don't have a toilet in our new garage-w/loft ( ;)yet) and the yellow spots in the snow are becoming numerous and conspiquous. ::) I'm starting to think this may not look so good to the building inspector when he calls! Just never had to worry about that in the summer....
[cool] The spray pattern in the snow underneath the upstairs gable end double hung makes for a very interesting effect though.
Snow always looks for pretty in the pictures.
How far back from a country maintained road are you? Curious. ???
county road is 225 feet west of us, and many trees between. but, there is unpaved road behind us much closer, but little used. :( I only go from the second floor double hung mid-night when my fat old prostate insists on me doing a very little tinkle :P

We were working but got rained out, Jan - -that's way too cold- we are getting liquid sunshine today but the real thing will be back soon. Obviously too cold for a winter solstice celebration if it involves any dancing in the birthday suit outdoors.

Reminds me of some old Canadian friends. They used to drink some beers and have contests to see who could go the farthest. His sister, Rose won - shot clear over top the car, so the story goes. Beer makes people do funny things, eh? hmm
Best are the invisible ink "pencils" you use in Alaska when it is 30 below...it all turns to vapors before it hits the ground!
hmm Kind of a reverse yellow sublimation of some sort. hmm
i always enjoy your updates, jan. so, the more the better.
we've had a good start to winter here in the northeast, with at least a foot of snow on the ground already. i can't imagine living in an area without four distinct seasons.
btw, the shop looks great!
