I have been working on the ceiling. I'm putting 1x3 T&g v-groove pine up,and at 3" per run, it don't go up very fast.

also, the biggest tree on my property got hit by lightening

after this storm I noticed Ihad a broken window.

we finished the center trim of the ceiling today, we used 2x8 log siding.
I trimmed the lap edges off and screwed it to the ceiling..

For me it didn't make any difference trying to keep the courses running level and the same you still end up with a gap that has to be trimmed.  I just cut the angle of the pitch on both sides of my trim board to make to sit flush.  Looking good.

after seeing dugs post that showed a shelf opposite his loft, we decided we wanted to do something similar.
we used 2x6's to frame a 20" deep shelf that is the width of the cabin.
I will finish the shelf with the same 1x4 t&g used on the ceiling, nailed on the top with the v-groove facing down

If you wanted to add a little ambiance by the addition of of a couple can lights on the underside.  You have a electric wire closeby to tie into.  If it is a light and you want to control them seperately now is the time to tie into a recepticle  at floor level up to dimmer switch before the wall is covered.  Just a thought.

great Idea!
The box in the top left corner of the window is on a switch, maybe there is a way I can branch off that.

We built a small wall near the front door that will take the refrigerator somewhat out of view.
Ive got one side covered in T&G.

I like the way it gives a little privacy from the front door.

Thanks Nathan, T&g installation did get tiresome fast, especially cutting around the diamond window .

Thanks jdhen.
The T&G pine came from a local mill in Atoka Oklahoma.
the 1x4 was .20 cents a foot, but only has 3" coverage so ~.80 cents a square foot.
the mill gave me about 600 l/ft extra for waste or bad wood.
