Member flyingvan lives near San Diego. If he close enough to the wild fire area his home may be in jeopardy, not to mention he could be working the fire. Let's hope / pray he, his wife and homes are safe and remain so.
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

Thanks for the heads up MD.

Good opportunity to say watch out for fire safety around your cabins, houses and properties.  Give yourselves plenty of set backs and fuel free areas.  At least give the fire crews a chance.

If you are building check your insurance policies for fire.  You know it is hard to get a policy if the forest is on fire - under writers are sort of short sighted there and then.

If you can no longer underwrite our own losses you need insurance.  Not plugging insurance companies but facts of life.
Proverbs 24:3-5 Through wisdom is an house builded; an by understanding it is established.  4 And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.  5 A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.

Thanks for the concern-----we're flying the pants off this thing, day and night----not to mention rescuing an 'international traveller' late last night even though we were pretty spent....

PLEASE maintain defensible spaces!!!  Makes our work much easier...  Took this pic this morning

(My homes aren't near any of the fires that are burning right now...)

OK, here's some action shots lifted from a photojournalist.  Things aren't nearly as bad here as the national media makes it sound, by the way, and I'm pretty sure public support of our program will be good for awhile
