About 2PM MDT today a comment spammer spammed the forum with 7 posts in assorted topics. The posts were about Accutane, an RX drug.  Due to 2 alert members making use of the report to moderator function I received an early warning.  As I was opening each message to delete them my MalwareBytes Anti-Malware software kept triggering and blocking access to some website.  The most likely reason for this warning was that the remote images that were linked to in the message were on a website that if visited would download malicious software to the viewer's computer. There is also a chance that the images themselves might contain hidden malicious code. My computer did not display the images. No matter what the reason for the alarm, there was something rotten about the scene.

If any of you opened any of those Accutane spam messages and actually saw images on your screen you would be advised to run a comprehensive scan of your computer. Ditto if anyone actually clicked on any of the links in the messages.
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

I find the MalwareBytes Anti-Malware program to very very good at picking up on malicious websites. Everyone should be running something similar. It gets along fine running along with my anti=virus software.
