• Here's an interesting YouTube video on a concentrating solar collector made with parts from an old big-screen television.

• Solar panels without the glass, weight and silicon. Just roll them out, attach to any surface, and you have electricity.

• Here's a short video that explains the printing technology of Nanosolar:

Good links John. As a matter of fact, I own stock in Ascent Solar. They have the cutting edge patents in CIGs flexible panels. Norisk hydro has a sizable stake in it already and as of tomorrow, can buy up to 35% of the company.

It's a very exciting time in solar development.

Question for John and anyone else who watched the first youtube video (about the solar collector from fresnel lens).

In that video, the WorldsNest.com website is shown several times across the bottom of the screen.  Upon going to the website and actually reading what they wrote, I find numerous spelling an grammar errors.  Those are great big red flags to me.  I also get the feeling that showing lots of pictures of the pretty lady with "important" people is more important than the information they have to impart to the reader.  I see lots of tabs to go to, but not much content other than the money they want you to spend to "join" their group.

Is this just me, or do others feel the same way; lots of show but little do.

Old Idea - I would learn from the information if you can use it but don't give them money.  Fresnel lenses require tracking and create such intense heat that they had a lot of collector problems when they fiirst started.  A lot odf this stuff will work but requires tinkering to keep it running.  Solar panels require some but not as much.

I hope the new thin film at low cost gets going.

These websites always seem to want money but never seem to get to a point of having something you can buy reasonably and use.

What Glenn said. Old idea that looks good on paper but shortens the life of the cells and requires some serious tracking mounts.

Glenn, the thin films exist already. The issue that's being worked on now is mass production. The plant equipment they designed was delivered in November and Norisk is allowed to purchase their additional stock now.
They already have contracts with the Air Force and NASA.

A good indicator is the price. The stock started around 3.00. I bought in at 4.00 and it is now jumping between 20 and 21 dollars. Lots of people have a lot of faith in this technology.

Here's the news I've been waiting for. Since the Norrisk price is based on the previous 5 day average and prices should go up today, I expect they will complete their buy in today also.

Flexible film photovoltics is just around the cornet now.

PS Boy did I call that price wrong. Shorts selling triggered automatic stop losses.
