Title: Reverse board and batton siding?
Post by: 2zwudz on November 08, 2009, 02:52:54 PM
I am concidering using reverse board and batton siding on my cabin and was wanting some opinions/input on how much of a problem it is as far as upkeep?  I would like to use a natural look sealer on it and was wondering how often I will need to apply the sealer to keep it looking nice?  I like the look of this siding for a cabin but I also like the maintenance free idea of vinyl or steel siding!

Thanks
Mark

After two initial coats, you should be able to expect 5 years before needing to recoat-----will also help to seal all sides of siding before you nail it up---back sides would only need one coat of seal. Semi-transparent will also wear a little better then transparent.

Usually, the more transparent the finish the more often it needs recoating. IMO
