Newbie member here. Stumbled across this site and have started reading thru the posted questions, answers, etc and must say I love this place!

I've built a few additions to normal city homes over the years and at last have my dream little place in the mountains of New Mexico. Only an acre and a half, but heavily wooded and remote just like I wanted. Plan is to build something in the 14 - 16 x 24 size range. So far am in the early planning stages (thinking stage) as far as the cabin goes. Clearing out all the deadfall first. Building to start in May '07.
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

Welcome, Don.  We are looking forward to seeing and hearing about your projects.  I've been around NM some -- even got a ticket or two there while trucking.  Nice country.
