Title: The Peculiar History of Arthurdale
Post by: ScottA on December 08, 2008, 09:51:33 PM
With Obama set revive the new deal I was doing some reading on the great depression and the new deal and stumbled onto this interesting story of how the government wastes money for all the seemingly right reasons.

Some believe that FDR made the depression worse and longer with his New Deal actions.

I've learned that some things are hard to credit when it comes to the economy.  Like, right now it is "bad" and people blame it on Bush, but things take a while to get going when it comes to economy and it is hard to put a timeline on anything.  Maybe the economies bad right now because of the Clinton administration...but Bush get's the blame...at least from a political standpoint it would make sense.

Quoting my economics teacher..."FDR is credited with bringing us out of the great depression...12 years later"

And since I metioned Bush...I think that the Fed had a lot more to do with the way the economy has turned out than Bush did.
