WAS THINKING ABOUT SANDWICHING THE PLYWOOD BETWEEN 2X10'S TO GET MY 4X10 BEAMS, WAS ALSO THINKING ABOUT SPLICING OVER THE POST AND PIER BUT, THERE IS NO WAY TO STAGER EACH SIDE (BEAM),IS THERE :question :-? IS IT PRACTICAL TO USE 18 FOOT BEAM OR COULD I ADD POST AND PIER TO EACH SIDE AND DIVIDE THE DIFFERENCE AND THEN STAGGER THE THE SPLICES :question

For a 4x beam you would have 2- 2x's and one plywood splice.

Thought I was losing it there for a minute, dajo41.  Saw your name and didn't remember getting rid of you.  Thought I may have screwed up on a security deletion for spammers but found that wasn't the case.  Glad you made it back.

It wasn't exactly rehab but he did have to do some time in purgatory.  :)

Dajo had prepurchased the indulgences so we were able to move him through the bureaucracy pretty quickly.
