Title: Quick question about roof trusses for Little House
Post by: Teri Pittman(Guest) on March 08, 2006, 01:24:20 PM
We're putting together the 12' x 18' Little House using recycled materials. We've got some 2" x 12" rough cut trusses available for use. They have plywood gussets at the top and were used for a mining company office at one time. The plans call for the trusses to be placed every 2'. With these heavier trusses, should we stick with that same spacing? We are going to be in snow country, but we have this tendency to overbuild.

The 24" spacing is a function of the roof sheathing span. If you used 3/4" plywood for the roof sheathing you could safely go to 36" with heavier rafters (which these sound like they would be).
