Man Eats 15-lb Hamburger Leading up To Wendy's 60th Anniversary

by Bill Belew on October 22nd, 2008

There's a lots of 'stuff' going around about Wendy's 60th Anniversary.

But, how about this guy who ate a 15-lb hamburger with 5 pounds of fixins?

Brad Sciullo ate a 15-lb cheeseburger with 5 pounds of toppings, bun, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mild banana peppers, a cup each of ketchup, mustard, relish and mayonnaise.

It took him 4 hours and 39 minutes to finish the marathon meal +the time it takes recreational runners to run a foot-race marathon.

Sciullo is just 5′11″ and 180-pound and works as a chef at Denny's Beer Barrel Pub.

And we wonder why Asia gets the impression that Americans are eating themselves to death.

Wow. I hope no one was blocking the mens room entrance.
The shareholders of Wendys and Arbys were to have seperate meeting to vote on consolidating the two chains. The buyout was to be accomplished with share trades. 4.25 shares of TRY for one Wendys. I never looked to see how it turned out. I did notice that TRY shares disappeared from my watch list. Maybe they will call it Warbys. This may be part of the celebration.

Ug.  That's kind of gross... the burger looked good, for about 30 people!!!!  How can one person consume fifteen pounds of anything?  (My sister came close one time on Grandy's buttermilk biscuits when she'd broken up with her boyfriend and I took her through the drive through at closing time... she asked them if we could have a few extra biscuits, and they told her that we could have what they had left because they just had to throw them out, anyway, and they gave us a couple of big tubs full for free.  She sat there bawling and stuffing biscuits in her mouth one after the other until they were totally gone :P )
