Does anyone have a Weather Station? By that I mean one of those devices that measures indoor/outdoor temperature, humidity, wind speed/direction, etc. and logs it all for reference. I'm not trying to do forecasting and so on, but sometimes I'd like a little more local / back yard info than the big ole sunny face thermometer on the exterior wall gives me. Any opinions appreciated.

74 degrees F right now, humidity is noticeable (rained last night).  :)

I have had 2 of the Oregon Scientific models.  I put the anemometer up the guy cable of the wind generator 75' - since it was swinging it tore itself apart but under normal use they work pretty good.  Get the wireless model.  Saves a lot of work wiring.

Price is way down - I paid about 300 originally.

Thank you Glenn!

Do you have the computer connection?  I see there's a serial connection with a USB converter available. Wonder how that functions?

It's 55.9 outside per our weather station & raining on & off - this past Saturday it was in the 80's...

Only tenths of a degree? Not certain if that's accurate enough.  :-/ ::)

I hooked up the computer connection on the original one and downloaded the trial software- I think from the site above.  It worked good and gave tons of data along with max highs - lows etc.  You could log and refer to everything.  After my original site evaluation for wind - a few computer changes - not wanting to buy the full software package etc. I haven't run it anymore but it is nice.  You can also send it to places like Weather Underground and be a official weather station -- or maybe be considered a terrorist. :-/
