:o The wall he "jumped" was 15 feet tall, topped with concertina wire. A very determined, tho' misdirected, young man.

A transient surge, blamed on this event, knocked the NM DMV mainframe for the entire day; toast as well.
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

Will the New Mexico power company be able to bill him for stealing electricity, or will the public be made to subsidize that also?

It must have taken at least $100 worth to fry a kid that size. :)

Insensitive -- yeah -- that's me.  Turn up the juice. :o

More a realist than insensitive, I would say.
Is it because lawyers and judges are drawn almost without exception from the wealthier strarta of society that the problem of inadequate dealing with racial minorities occurs? It seems strange that just the same pattern is seen here and in the UK, and no doubt elsewhere in the Western world as well?
They just don't have any experience of the consequences of property and personal crime, and the misery caused to those on the recieving end of it?

Looks like he won't be tagging anything again except maybe the inside of a pine box.

I don't think this one was a minority.  I think he may have been white, but to me that doesn't matter.  I have lots of friends of many races.  White, green, brown , black, yellow, red----  good people are good people and trash is trash.

Sometimes after many years of crime and destruction, trash decides to be good and straighten out.  That's fine and dandy but I'm not one for waiting.  Turn up the juice. :o

I'm not exactly a community minded person or social butterfly but I get really ticked off when someone steals or maliciously destroys the things I've worked for and feel that any color of trash destroying anything or stealing things others have worked for deserves this sort of instant justice.  If this is the sort of thing this kid has been allowed to do when daddy's not looking then I guess the laws of physics can just eliminate the stupid ones.

Hopefully something good will come from this wasted life.  Hopefully other vandals will think twice before they vandalize other peoples property.

I agree- but you would have to be living in a coalmine not to have shoved in your face every day the fact that when dealing with criminals and a criminal culture the courts and in particular the media are less than even-handed when it comes to the amount of second chances and far lighter jail terms meted out to Hispanics and Negros in your own country, West Indians and South Indians in the UK and Aborigines in my own. This hands-off approach is a breeding ground for intergenerational crime, ghettoization and social disfunction.

I was talking to a US Park Service man the other day and he mentioned the same thing.  It is very PC to humor the native Americans now.  I have many of them who are friends and even they are losing kids to drugs and crime - still there is a great many of them who are trying to improve their lot in life and help their people and their children.  They are promoting getting away from alcohol and smoking.   I have great respect for them.

Here the whites are a minority - in the valley -- but they are still treated as a majority.

Mountains are still pretty much redneck country though. :)

Hey, what a small World it is- I live in the mountains...not that I get to see much of them through the eyeholes in this sheet.... ;)  Afermaitive Action was without doubt the very worst of the multiple ""isms"" spewed from the Socialist maw during the late '60s and throughout most of the 1970's. The country here is built on immigrants- convicts, Irish and Chinese during the gold rush, Lebanese, Jewish, you name it, they have come here over the last two hundred years, worked hard and seamed flawlessly into Aussie life- once ""Multiculturalism"" ( Lo! another ""ism"") came on the scene that intergration stopped dead in it's tracks, and the protectionist policies toward Aboriginal people went out the window. Result: Crime ridden ghettos, racist division and welfare as a lifestyle choice. The most tragic examples of this misguided policy are the Aborigines, who have gone from productive members of society to drug and booze addicted wrecks in the space of two generations.

Yup - policies of the criminals we put in office now are destroying the United States.  It probably won't stop until the fall of the empire, which they are working on daily.  We are now in the last days of Rome.

Proud to be a redneck, Peter.  I only go to the ghetto's and squalor of the valley long enough to make the money necessary to keep surviving up here.  If the rest of it miraculously went away I could survive without the money or any of it. :)

Or as I told one of my daughters boyfriends.

I have a gun, a truck and a shovel.  And I know how to use them all.

That makes the dating a bit more tense, eh, John?
