Hi, guys! Here's Anderson, from Brazil. I am looking for affordable solutions to increase the ridge height of my house's Gable roof, in order to get enough head height for a loft conversion. My lot is very narrow and I need more room in the house, so going up is the best option. My attic has a ridge height of 5 feet 4 inches, and my goal is to reach at least 7 feet 11 inches with a new roof design. For that I am considering, first, a Gambrel roof, and secondly an Attic Truss roof. I don't know which of these two roofs would be better suited in my case, considering my tight budget and need to make this remodeling work as quick as possible.
Plus it would be nice to recycle as much of the current roof rafters, joists and alike as possible. Have you got any tips for me? The pictures are of my house's façade and its attic interior. Thanks a million!👊🏻
