Title: Masonry Lag Bolts versus Anchor Pins?

For shale, with a mixture of granite & mica, I am in a toss-up over the two options. I am drilling a hole into the end of the 6x6 support post to allow a single piece of 5/8" or 3/4 rebar to secure.
