Greetings,
Just wondering if anyone else is messing around with some DIY HDTV antenna's. I have done a couple, and have an oddball one. We live 50 miles to the north from the closest transmitter site, and have several more within 100 miles to the south.  My buddy just a block away, has an old "regular" tv antenna standing up vertical, the boom is bolted directly to a t-post drove in the ground, rite up against the house, facing south, connected with coax just stripped back and connected. No belun, no tower, no special build, and gets upwards of 55 channels from both the north and south transmitters.

Nothing special, no amps, just a two/three year old HD converter box connected to a 27in analog tv. I have built several different antenna's from web idea's, and cannot even get close to his reception, with an amp, lol,,,  just wondering what kind of antenna idea's other DIY'rs are building and other experiences.
