If you loved building things as a kid here is a site for you. Maybe even your own kids will get interested.

This snappy cartoon "how to" series is a good antidote to TV overload!

Cool site, John-- reverting back to our childhood, are we ???
I'll send it to my grandkids. ;D
Sweet! But who says it has to be for kids? Just a couple weekends ago we were messing around with a three person potato canon at my friend's welcome home party (he's a Marine). Maybe if we had stuff like this when we were kids there would have been fewer lighter fluid and fireworks incidents ;D Then again, we probably wouldn't have disappointed....anyone for a CO2 powered flaming marshmallow shooter? 8)
You guys are right- it is interesting for big guys too.
My son took the potato gun one step further- to limit release of potentially dangerous information -lets say he used a mix of welding gases as a fuel- that causes gigantic explosions and PVC plastic shrapnel- I suppose one should stick with approved methods of propellant. There was no major injury or loss of life - this time. :-/
Here is a link to a short video of a "mega air cannon" these folks built as a upsized version of one of the Howtoon projects.

Who says we aren't just overgrown kids at heart!
