Title: Help a noob get started : Cabin in Austin, TX
Post by: cgilbert37 on March 20, 2016, 05:38:07 PM
I want to build a 16x18 bungalow style cabin where half of the 1st floor is dedicated to storing my garden equipment.  The remainder of the 1st floor will be a kitchenette and space for my home office, while the upstairs will be the bedroom.  This will be on my lot behind my house with occasional usage by guests.

Where can I get started with finding some plans?

Thanks!
Chris

There are quite a few free plans at www.thesmallhousecatalog.com to get some ideas.  They are free to download.

This one might work for you.  http://www.thesmallhousecatalog.com/afewsmallwords/the-sea-thistle-tiny-loft-house

Or maybe this one.  http://www.thesmallhousecatalog.com/afewsmallwords/the-sago-tiny-house

I would feel a little uncomfortable posting plans/links from one plans site on another's.

Unless I had the site owners permission then never mind.

Yikes....it's a building forum....more than one way to skin a cat in this biz, and one size does not fit all....might wanna read the "Posting Owner-Builder Projects" by the site owner above...

The site owner has been very gracious about this.  From the sticky above:

"Postings here are NOT limited to projects built with our plans."

No worries.  It was more to clarify things so as to not stifle future discussions if it would come up in a search.
