I want to know what you guys think?  I have the crawl space hole dug and a poured 16" wide x 12" deep footing with two 5/8 rebar inbedded in it.  I had difficulty with the block layer getting on the job before it started to freeze and didn't get one blocked layed.  I have chose to wait until spring and then I will do it myself.  I have placed straw on both sides of the footing at about 5" thick.  Do you think I will have any problems?

Thanks
Mark

Mark if the footer is all you have poured I would just cover the complete footer with straw and let it go til spring. It should winter ok.  There is nothing else you can do at this stage other than use fill dirt in addition but then you would have the thing to clean off later.  See what it looks like when you uncover it.
