I'd have some quibbles with, say, treated and glued, and finished bamboo shipped across the ocean.  Even though it's perfectly lovely. Maybe not the greenest solution in the light of the transportation and maybe some of the processing, although it might be the best an "industry" can do.  If you were buying a spec-built house, I expect you'd feel very lucky indeed to get one with all of this in it.
