This Sunday will be Father's Day.

That day seems to have a special resonance for me, as it's sometimes tough to find a gift for a guy, one that they really enjoy.
Moms, hehh, give 'em a stick with a nick in it and they'll gush for hours, keeping it for decades.
Dads
Not so much
Oh sure, they'll express their thanks, but both him and you will know it's not what he wants (needs)...

Here's the deal;
Dads, men, shop for what they want.
They don't 'shop' like wimin.
Oh no.
They target shop.
It may take more than a dozen stores, more than a dozen weeks, but when they eventually buy 'it', it'll be what he's been lookin' for...the best, for the right price.
So
Over the last years of my Dad's life, I got him what I considered what he was lookin' for...even though he didn't know it.
One year I gave him a firm handshake.
One year I made him a wooden plaque, writing some very special things about him and me....
He started to read it out loud

...then broke down.

....tried, couldn't finish it.

Hard to top that one.

But

One of last years he was coherent, was one of the best I could come up with, him bein' an avid baseball fan an' all;

If

Your father is still with you...or not

Remember him
I'm enjoying all that I own, the moment.
