My good this things an absolute beauty isn't it!!

sparks

Well......I said this is the flying or aircraft thread some time ago....

I learned how to fly an airplane back in the late 1960's.....before I even had a drivers license......

A Piper140, Cessna175,and Beech V35......but had never landed any of them.....

My first attempt at a landing was with the 140, and it was damn near disaster.......severe crosswind and my instructor balled me out big time......that was April of 1970....I never went back................

All that was a bit over 45 years ago.....I stopped by the local airport today.....and the dude I spoke with said its never too late.........I'd really love to do a solo......gonna take him up on doing lessons again........

Yeah, its never to late.......just hope that old damn 140 is retired................. ;D

The first 727 ever built will be making its last voyage shortly.......

I'll try to stay on top of that......

I flew on many 727's.......

Proverbs 24:3-5 Through wisdom is an house builded; an by understanding it is established.  4 And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.  5 A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.

 Here's one for the gals....

I think it means a bit more than just flying one of the most advanced commercial aircraft ever produced

Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

The link didn't work very well. I used the URL that was sort of hidden from utube....

Here's the short version.......

A salute and congratulations to the folks that made 'Doc' happen.

The flight crew was comprised of those that fly FIFI (and some Doc people)

Maybe someday they'll have their time in the sky together

Its been a fun thread folks........ [cool]

Thanks

That prompted me to look up a gentleman I worked for in my teens, he took a flight a few years ago;
http://ourvalley.org/world-war-ii-bomber-pilot-russell-robinson-flies-again/
I googled the aircraft and its name and up popped Mr Robinson. I remember the story of him and the copilot having to pound on each other to keep from freezing.

MountainDon

Another interesting story... thanks.
