Title: Dual cartridge epoxy systems. tool?
Post by: firefox on May 19, 2017, 07:04:05 PM
Is any one familiar with these epoxy systems? I bought a bunch of stuff a while back
from a contractor who was going out of business. One of the items was a hand held
dual cartridge gun used with the Simpson epoxy system for imbeding rebar and threaded
rod into existing concrete.
My question is are the cartridges a standard size or does it change from manufacturer to
manufacturer?
I am hoping that the cartrige gun will also work on 3m bonding cartriges used for
sheet metal repair on equipment and cars.

It turns out that the Simpson is a 300 ml cartridge and the3M ones are 200 ml,
so I am out of luck.

I'm confused...if you now have a reason to buy another tool, how are you out of luck?   :D

It can depend on the shape and size of the cartridges, Bruce.  Some will work in others tools.  Hilti usually only works in their own tool due to 2 different size cartridges in a sausage type pack for example.  I think Simpson and Epcon? are the same. :)
