Title: Balloon framing
Post by: joe_landscaper on January 17, 2006, 09:42:38 PM
A few pages back Glenn posted a diagram showing balloon framing, rigid insulation replaced the ply wood sheathing. Is this acceptable on the builders cottage? T1-11 siding is going to be the exterior of this little hunting cabin.

Thanks.

If you are using T1-11 siding that will give you the same strength as structural sheathing. You can use foam sheathing under it. Check on the suggested nailing with your lumber supplier or inspector. Likely will be different with the foam.
