Big bucks. I worked on several houses in that area back in the 90's. Very expensive.

The prices vary depending on location, views, and if the land has been developed. 

This land is 2 parcels -- an old mining claim (unmined) and old Forest Service land -- that is ready for building.  The asking price is $200,000.  It's spectacular land.

But it's in CO, not CA Glenn. But some areas of CO are extravagantly priced as well.


Hmmm... when you price it per acre we paid more in NM.   

But we have great trees, and a rare clear view of Redondo. Most folks there do not.

This land is in a great location -- within commuting distance of the Denver metro area, but also close enough for a quick trip to Winter Park ski resort.  Plus incredible views of the mountains.

Don, we bought our 20 acres here for $68000 including a well and some site work.  We bought our other 40 acres including a rentable house and garage for $200,000....but 20 acre parcels here are still going for $300,000 right next to us and without as good a view or any improvements.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to let people know about land for sale?  How do you reach the people who are interested in living in the mountains?

I lived near Conifer above 8000 ft. We had several weeks of below 0 weather in the winter. Summers are fantastic though. No need for any kind of A/C maybe just a fan on the hottest days. I did a couple of houses in Idaho Springs near I-70.  Very pretty country if you like long winters. You might try contacting some of the local builders to see if they are interested. I don't know what the market is like there these days. Lots of spec houses built there in the 90's when I was there.

Generally we see big city people tired of the crime and desiring better security and safety for their family, so they sell their city house and usually have enough money to buy country land and have a tidy sum left over.

That is California - so I think I would advertise in the big city -maybe a decent Realtor - if you can find one.

I am working with a realtor.  I'm just not sure if she's going to do much to market the land.  I guess I don't like to depend completely on someone else.
