Title: Jamb sill's for doors and window , high exposure
Post by: PEG688 on September 01, 2006, 09:09:24 PM
So for doors and window in highly exposed areas I use these ,

A PVC flashing pan.  A 3 piece deal , or more than 3 piece for very wide doors , just glue together with PVC glue after cutting to desired lenght .

Flash's up the stud and under the door ,

After ya glue it up find a dumb bell to hold it for at least 30 seconds ,

Call Glenn if ya can't locate a dumb bell  ;D He might help ya  ;)

Also benited the end grain of the old siding to help the paint stick to it better,

So you can use um for both doors and windows , they come in 4 9/16" and 6 9/16" jamb size's. This job had 6 3/4" walls / jambs 1/2 " CDX ,  2x6 stud , 5/8 " D/W so I had to decieve , degrade and destroy the issue ,

lil knotch in the jamb bottom  ;)

BTW Decieve , degrade , destroy is a old throw back to my USN , Prowler A/C days ,

here's the new version of a Prowler,

EA-18G  Growler sportin a HARM missle  on the port wing :o

Any way back to doors and such, lightly stuff some insulation around the jamb , this photo should be the other way , it is on photo bucket in the smaller image when I enlarge it it goes back side ways , we'll see how this works out  ;D

Then case inside and out ,

I'd like to, but this weekend is also 48 hour film competition.  Friday at 7pm we get  Theme, prop, and line of dialog in an email.  Then we've got until Sunday at 7pm to write, film, and edit a 10 min film.  This is our 4th year.  We placed 7th, 4th, and 4th previously.  The best part is that they show the top ten films from 10th to 1st at the PT Film Festival.  This year we have a prime Saturday night spot at the Rose theatre.  Really super fun contest.
