A close friend asked me to put a new metal roof on one of his camps (he is a professional outfitter, 83 years young and still going strong) in New Brunswick, Canada. He is a true MacGiver when it comes to construction problems. He figured out how to chain a ladder into the bucket of his tractor so that I could use it to remove and replace the roofing. Never had to touch the ladder to adjust anything. To move it down the camp, he'd just pick it up a little, back up, mover it over, and so on down the roof. I felt very safe...beats sliding around, even on that low-pitched roof. I've since used this method a couple more times.
