This week, while looking into materials for the 14x24 cabin, I found out that in New Mexico, they don't sell the standard concrete piers with metal saddles that the Little House plans call for, and that are sold everywhere else in every Home Depot or Lowe's.
I'm thinking of going with these, which they do stock, because I don't want to drive hours into Arizona to get the metal saddle ones, unless you guys think these are not a good replacement:

Thoughts?
Prohibited for inspected work pretty much everywhere. OK for chicken coops etc.
