Title: Suggestions for 24X24 handicapped accessible
Post by: martyv on August 05, 2007, 11:46:37 PM
We are planning to build a small handicapped accessible house for a lady on a very limited budget.

This is going to be almost all volunteer labor with her paying for the materials.

We hope to start soon but don't have the plans finalized yet.

Here are the basic parameters:

Slab on Grade
In-Floor heat
24X24 foot with 4X12 pitch trusses
t-111 siding
one bedroom
one bath with roll-in shower
we are on one acre and have to put in our own well/septic etc so this takes up a lot of money.

We want a quality house but have a small budget.

Any suggestions for a good simple floor plan?

Mark Chenail is our best member on handicap layouts as he deals with it on a daily basis.  He has done several designs.

Martyv:

I'd be glad to help you with a simple design for this project.  Give me an email with more details or perhaps we can chat on the phone later.  I retired two months ago so I'd love a good design project to occupy my time.  Email me at chenail@uiuc.edu.  sounds like a great project :)
