Good Afternoon,

I'm looking at the possibility of purchasing a pre-made cabin as a full time home and possibly a rental during the ski season here in Ohio (Jan-Mar). Has anyone had any experience with Amish Cabin Company - http://www.amishcabincompany.com/]http://www.amishcabincompany.com/ out of Ashland Kentucky?

I'm looking at the 2 bed Kentuckian (600+ sq) at mid 50's (seems high). It would be the finished version - built out inside (framing walls, electricity, porch, fixtures, no plumbing tankless water heater... (visit site for more.

Any thoughts on this company. Thanks!

I would stipulate that it be built to code and if you have a building inspector make sure they are on board with it before putting any money down. Everyone is different so it would not be right to say all Amish builders are ignoring or ignorant of the law, but the three outfits I looked at were. I read some builder's tagline one time "They don't build them like they used to, we have laws against that now". A builder does need to keep up, as with anything do due diligence.
