Title: post & pier in Okanogan County WA?
Post by: jharleyhammond on June 14, 2017, 06:19:59 PM
After lurking for years and serious ruminating, I think we're finally ready to build a 14 x 24 cabin on our 20 acres. We're at about 2800 feet on some very rocky ground about 10 miles SW of Tonasket. Pine Creek area for those who know the area. A simple quick question... Post and pier foundation allowed in Okanogan County? Thanks all. Harley

This link should help...   http://www.okanogancounty.org/Building/index.htm    Near the page bottom is a download link for the code version they use. Looks like they use the IRC, so that should mean no piers as the IRC does not list approval for piers. But ask as there may an exception.

There is an online version of the IRC here...   https://codes.iccsafe.org/public/document/toc/553/

Piers are probably allowed if designed by an engineer.  That means with stamped plans that the county will accept.

Thanks MtnDon

Years later I have the SAME question as you. Did you ever find out?
