I got a great slide show of photos from Justin & Karin. They have included cost information on this handsome cabin project.

Nice project. I wish more places had the K permit.
Beautiful place. I bought the same plans and really like the eave window treatmant. I was thinking about the metal roof color as a strong red/blue/green, but I really like the slate color. I would possibly paint the window and door trim.
I wonder how much of the outlay was for the foundation, septic etc?
Why did they paint the floor green?
What is that siding actually called? I have heard it called slab siding.
Thanks,
Mike
Slab or Adirondack, or many other names if it is used untrimmed 0 usually horizontal. Looks like they stickered the slabs - straight cut the log then trimmed them down to 1x12's and 1x3's and did board and batten siding 1x12 vertical 2 nails each ribbon then a 1x3 over the gap to allow easy expansion/contraction and drying of the boards. Could be put up pretty green that way.
Breathtaking! Thanks for the photos.
Reminds me of the McGarigle Sisters:

Must I wait?
Must I follow?
Won't you say "Come with me"?

Awesome pictures..... beautiful HOME!
What's a K permit? I assume it's not the one for telepharmacies.
It's an owner builder permit -- don't remember all of the details but basically the don't hassle you.
found it.

How's mountain living going? I really love your cabin exterior and the materials you have used. Do you
have any updated interior pixs? Did you I thought a wrap around deck would be perfect to get a panoramic
view from anytime you sat out to sit and relax.
Wow. Gorgeous place, gorgeous location. I am impressed.
What did you use on your loft ceiling? From the Loft after insulation and drywall picture in your gallery, it looks light but has wood grain?
Thanx,
Jerry
House / cabin looks GREAT. What did you use to mill the siding? Your view is exeptional. That storm picture is something else.
Thanks for posting.

Looks fabulous! I can comisserate with the septic part...atleast I know I'll be able to once we get around to building. :-\ Where we'll be, the only engineering and inspections required are for septic. I also love seeing a 20 x 30. We built an addition that size, and I love the spaceousness of it and have an idea of the timing it'll require of us. Still, I've yet to go back through all the costs and try to separate the addition costs from the remodel costs (we replaced a great deal) so it is really nice to see some current pricing.
Love the pictures and can't wait to see more interior shots as well,
