sharpening / peening a scythe

Thanks Paul! I remember visiting my grandfather on his 90 birthday
and saw him cutting the grass with one of those. It was a pretty large
area and I don't think it wore him out at all.

I was not aware of the peening but I do have a nice scythe... may need to make a small peening anvil.

I have a short (3') piece of railroad rail I used as an anvil.  I don't do any farrier work now so I use it to shape iron art for my wife.

Check a scrap metal yard they may have a piece laying around.  By the way that 3' piece weighs in at 120 lbs.
