Happened upon this today, it looks pretty accurate and more detailed than anything I've seen. It recognizes that most of the mountain we're on is a half zone colder than just down the road and the other end of the county is a full zone colder.

[cool] I see home in the city here is 4 ranges warmer than our mtn property. The map shows our mtns to be approx the same as your area if I recall correctly; a 6a for us.
How about that, I had assumed with the elevation your mountain property was a good bit colder than us. I wonder how they got this level of detail.
It's interesting how the average temperatures change as you move around (and click) in the same colored area.
Yeah, I thought we'd be colder than your area but weather is not all that easy to understand.
There are hundreds of small weather stations all around the country that report in via telemetry systems. Most are accessible online. When they are working correctly they record 13 different data points every hour. The one near us records at 8 minutes past every hour. *8:08 this morning it was 32 F.
