Getting high in the mountains of Wyoming

« on: April 07, 2010, 10:48:53 AM »

THIS CABIN HAS BEEN SOLD AND IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE.

I have moved to the Oregon Coast and am selling my cabin in western Wyoming.  Cabin is on 2 acres of aspen, subalpine fir, and lodgepole pine, and some open sage country.  Elevation is 8000 feet.  Winter access is by snowmobile.  Built over 2 years ... 2001-2002.

This cabin is 16x28 with a 12x16 sleeping loft and a second 6x16 sleeping loft.

It comes equipped with a propane cooking stove and oven, a propane refrigerator, solar panel and 4 LARGE sealed gel batteries providing 110 power to the interior of the cabin... enough power to run a 12 volt water pump, interior lights, TV/VCR combo, small fan to circulate air when heating with the wood stove.  Has an RV hot water heater.

I haul water up in a 30 gallon tank and pump it into a 55 gallon drum underneath the cabin.

Grey water is released through a garden hose to water the trees.

Black water from toilet is drained into a 10 gallon RV tote tank which I take to an RV dump station to empty.  Simple.  Cheap.  Easy.

The entire building process and photos are available at www.countryplans.com/nash.html.

Asking $45,000.
