Hi,

I'm wondering about the advantages of the V staircase versus a straight run. In a smaller, narrow house, the V stair appears to have a bigger footprint. Anyone have an opinion on this?

I think it depends on your layout and what space you have to work with.  Furniture, beds etc. will likely go up the straight stair easier.

And it seems to act as a room divider.
