We are connected to the grid. The power should be installed after next week once the framing is done. We have a generator for construction

We are relieved to have the floor poured. It has been raining for two months now and we found a small Window yesterday and got it in.

We got the third wall up today and we are happy with how its going together.  I found out how heavy a 12ft wall is. That was fun.  We have installed (4) 6x4 posts in the framing to rest the 6"x12"x20' beams the go over the living area for the second floor to sit on.

My dad on one of the 6x12x20 rough cut beams.  Those were fun getting in

We attached the beams with 4x6 posts to the sill plate between two studs

Looks great!  Love those beams.  Moving that fast has got to feel good.

Thanks for the comment.  We have made good progress.  My family left for home yesterday so the rest of this house is going to be done by myself over the winter.  The beams are one of my favorite things we added.

Nice! Do you mind if I ask what those nice roof trusses cost?

Matthewpeace

The trusses were $2700 delivered 12/12 pitch. Not very fun to work on top of though.  I do have around 13 feet to the peak inside the loft. Which is why I choose that route

First house I built was 12/12 pitch.  That roof work slowed me WAY down.

Good job on the build.  You are moving fast.
