well, It is snowing again!
If I lived up north, this snow would be cleaned off the road, and the roads would be dry.
our snow plows here in Oklahoma, scrape the top 2" off the road and pack down the difference.
if it stops today, we will have snow covered roads for another week at least!

Another 12" plus of snow today. We've broken every record for snowfall this past week. I think Al Gore needs a new hobby. I hope he likes shoveling snow.

considerations

26 F at 7:15 AM - clear - no snow, should be in the mid 40's today if the sun shows up.  Freezing in the shade.

-15 this morning. Still at -9 at 8:45 am. This is nuts for this part of the country.  d*

considerations

This saying may be more universal than I'm aware of, but around here we say "if you don't like the weather, wait 15 minutes". However, it all seems to happen in a moderate range. We certainly have not been hammered like the rest of the US.  'Course one never knows what will happen 15 minutes from now.  ::)   30 degrees at 5AM and cloudy.

gandalfthegrey

40 degrees and 50 mph winds.

I almost hate to report this but the Boise Valley is sort of its usual well behaved self.  Very mild and mellow.  The snow is going further up the mountains every day.  The elk and deer are starting to follow it back.  42 today, 48 by Sunday.  Sort of just a regular year here.  It was 35 today up where the ranch is at, winter is not over up there quite yet.

It was sunny, blue skies, 60 degrees, enough wind to make the wind generator spin.

Rain, rain, rain...mid 40's but dropping.  Olympic and Cascade foothills are in for some snow.

Sassy

After the last few days of sun & 70 degree weather we are in for a week of rain & snow - temps dropping rapidly.  It's currently overcast & 50.4 degrees outside right now.  Got spoiled w/the sunshine...  but we do need the rain.  I expected it to snow because every year it seems to snow just when the fruit trees are blossoming  >:(

We are getting the tail end of your storm.  (Near Riverside)  They said it will last all week.

Right now it's unusually warm, 11 PM and 57 degrees is not typical February weather here in KY ???

We also had the unusual warm just before this snow storm.  Amazing what a bit of weather modification can do, eh? [ouch]

11:50 AM Feb 24 20 degrees F and snowing.  8 inches already on the ground and no thaw in sight.

Brrrr - I lived up by Lynden/Bellingham area for 12 yrs.  It was beautiful, we lived right off of Wiser Lake & could see Mt Baker, but too many overcast days & drizzly rain.  The wind & ice storms got pretty cold & snow would drift pretty deep sometimes, although it never lasted that long.  Black ice constantly but we could use studded tires back then which were wonderful - in a Volkswagen I could drive in anything, even the old manual steering pickup did pretty well.

So, back to the cabin here in the Sierra foothills - we are expecting snow & rain starting this afternoon & through Saturday night - must be getting your storm...  what w/the chemtrails - even when the day starts out sunny blue skies, the planes will be making their grids across the sky until it is totally gray & covered w/clouds  >:(  Can't hardly count on a sunny day anymore!

Temperature was 35F yesterday evening. Overnight it climbed to 50F at 7AM.  Then dropped to the current 36F.  The sun has been shinning all day as well as snow flurries & rain.  Go figure.  But there is an upside in that the robins have migrated back by the hundreds.  Won't be long now.  They wouldn't have made that early flight unless they knew the weather was on the upswing to SPRING. ;D

Redoverfarm

After rain & snow and snow & rain it has finally cleared up to being sunny with temps reaching 60F.  But it is bound to snow because I took the chains off the tractor. ;).  Left the snow blade on just in case. ;D

Sassy

I hear ya!  Around here it always snows when the fruit trees are blooming!

Murphy is amazing, he lives at your house and mine at the same time.  ::)

Some storm we had last night.  Wind must have blown 40-50 MPH.  As if I didn't have enough to do.

And yes there is 3 Twelve Foot gates that I used for a water crossing under that mess someplace.

I am about half afraid to drive up to the cabin and look.  It sits on a ridge top.

Sassy

I hope everything is ok, Red  :o  Seems like one thing gets done & you have to fix several other things.

We're having a lot of flooding around here, too.  No flooding in the house, though. The wind is blowing pretty hard up here - been raining for days - had a little break on Tuesday.  Supposed to snow today (& last night but it didn't).  The creeks & rivers are really high.  Don't know if Yosemite is still closed.  Back in 1997 I think it flooded so bad that it was closed for a couple months - the roads & camps were washed out.   Right now there are rock & mudslides, power poles & trees down.
