hello,

http://www.countryplans.com/kuhn.html

This is a beautiful home! I wanted to know what kind of siding is used - it's wonderful looking. It doesn't look like wood or vinyl. Info is appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.  I don't know what type it is - possibly John will.

Unless I am mistaken that is what I have always called drop siding.

Available in a couple variations by the same name

Thanks John... do you know the material used? It doesn't look like vinyl or wood to me... I couldn't find any mention in the information. It has a nice brilliance or gloss that I am not used to seeing.

Thanks,
Will

I would guess that that is the paint finish you are seeing. There are now some pretty good hard finishes that have some gloss. It may also look a bit snappier in one of the photos because I increased the sharpness when editing the images!  :o.

This siding is often made from cedar but different parts of the country may mill it from other trees.

I've also seen it in a fiber/cement? product although Hardie doesn't make that pattern.  Some of those might shown a bit more gloss as well
