The more times I spin around the sun, the more I begin to get the impression that the only thing worthy of my time are the things I love doing that are leaving behind solid stuff for others to enjoy and make their own.   ;D

I think that sits at the core of the drive to build your own home.  The initial thrust of interest would seem selfish, but sooner or later, it can be left for others to delight in  :)

You can see what my last few seasons of work has left behind here The team at Strawjet turned the machine on on Friday... it worked right out of the chute.  We'll be fabbing up straw and hemp timbers here by Xmas - and hopefully leaving behind some very interesting homes built almost entirely from recycled fibers and clay.

Just browsed through the Strawjet site a little & watched the video - WOW!  How exciting!  What a concept - thanks so much for sharing that.   :)

Sassy,

Glad you liked that... we sure enjoyed the project so far.  We'll be grinding out fab drawings for replicating the machine this winter - hopefully there will be some more machines up for grabs soon enough to satisfy the initial demand.  One machine is sold if we can get it off to Chad by the end of September.  Not likely, but you never know, the video could go viral I suppose and then we'd be doing more than just dreaming... :o

Hope this is OK with you mrhobbit.  I thought this warranted it's own topic.

Great information -- I'm still studying it over.  Pretty amazing. Thanks.

I went through the rest of the site.  A great new concept. :)

This looks to be very useful technology - if they can just get through the bureaucratic red tape to make it usable in this country also.
