Hi! We're thinking of buying the plans and building Victoria's cottage with the added downstairs bedroom - love the pics!. Most of the pictures seem to include a kitchen/dining nook bump out. We're building on a very small plot and need to know how much that increases the width of the main room. It's 16' without the bump out, right?
Thanks!

Looks like that is correct - 16x28 main module with optional popout.

Wow! Thanks for the quick response! Do you know how many feet the bump out adds to the original 16'? Is there a standard suggested bump out included in the plans?
Thank you again!

The main house section is 16' wide by 28' long with a 12' by 14' bedroom addition.

Remember though the length of any plan can be increased or decreased with no re-engineering required. Length refers to the dimension inline with the gable roof that covers that section.

So you could minimize the bump out to suit the lot, or extend it as far as you'd like.
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

I believe the bumpout as shown on the plans is 5'.
