Nice looking bunch of broccoli  :)  We love it but no cheese since we cut dairy. Good with a light drizzle of olive oil, though.
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

Sassy

Thanks, Don.  I don't usually put cheese on mine either...  Glenn has to have a little broccoli w/his cheese sauce  d*

Last fall Glenn rototilled the terraces next to the house w/our pet cows' droppings & then planted broccoli, cauliflower & turnips...  this year we didn't have the big problem w/aphids like we usually do - doesn't make sense cuz it's been pretty warm  ???  Good crop of winter veggies - still lots more  :)

It is a combination of some bought plants from the feed store - maybe 12, and volunteers from some of the old that we nearly always let go to seed.  If we get to it and eat it we do but if it gets past eating into flowers then we let it grow if we have the space.

I am planning on putting in some raised beds this year and trying to make a bit better garden all on drip if I get to it.  [ouch]

Not at all, Rick and we finally have the rain we have been needing - about 6 inches in the last few days, so it is pretty wet to get started too.  [ouch]

Looks cool Windpower.  A good addition.  Just remembered I need to go check on free horse manure soon.  May be a bit wet to get it now depending on the guys ranch though.  Ahhhh nice un-natural resources for the garden.  :)

Patched the driveway before the last big storm... by a few hours...

Getting loaded was interesting to say the least.....    :)

Wonder if he used a big enough loader???

Clear skies above, clouds below.Reminds me of the village where my girl friend is from in the high mountains of Kentucky.

Sassy and Glen, what a beautiful shot of the valley, you should have that printed out and framed!  just amazing, can you have a cup of coffee with that view?  No wonder Glen doesnt want to leave home.

Sassy

Thanks, altaoaks!  I took this from the garden on top of the house...  there's some nice views but I have to fight Glenn from putting his old equipment in the way of every view...  he tried to put an old water heater (he calls it a boiler) in front of the only open area looking down the mountain from the front of the house.  Then I've been wanting a picnic/play area w/some swings hanging from 2 nice oak trees real close to the house - it's been covered w/all kinds of stuff - old batteries, old boards, metal, etc etc.  He got a section cleared out & was going to put 2 old tractors right in front - totally block any view & take up most of the nice area I'd been telling him I wanted for years.

He thinks wall to wall old equipment is a good view - I say put it somewhere on the mountain that doesn't block the few areas we have left where we can see the beautiful views we chose the property for...  he just doesn't get it  d*

Uh Oh Glenn, the jig is up and I see some cleaning up for you soon. [rofl2]
That is a super view, makes one want to just sit and enjoy it for a spell.

If you could only see the rest.... strategic photography you know.  [waiting]

Yes... we do love the view up here.  Looking down over my loyal subjects shrouded in the fog....   [ouch]

I haven't visited the forum since September...so I'll give an update collage which includes pics of our gardens and produce...along with a bunch of other stuff.  Our VW camper is "The Tardis" which takes us on journeys through time and space.

To which I must come to the aide of Glenn.  Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  Some of us like our rust, or old tractors, equipment and old pieces parts  hoarded in to strategically located areas.  All filed carefully in our brains.

Funny part is, mine all look fine to me until I have guests coming....then my "tourist eyes" kick in, and I see those "deposits" differently.  Guess I need to learn to relax a little.

Thanks for the update Bruce.  Nice to hear from you and see what you have going every once in a while. :)

Hoarding... Moi? ...   No that is just saving our unnatural resources.   [waiting]

Your welcome, Sassy!  I have to aggree with you on that on, blocking that view is a criminal offense.  You have to take your slices of heaven where you can get them.  that view is equal to or better than an hour meditating!

Arrrrgghhh  ........ women don't  understand the need to have prominent pieces of history displayed in strategic places..... our heritage,,, at least Rick does.  :)

Hey Glen, when are you starting the thread for the underground barn, you know it would be a great place of prominence, and a man cave to boot!

Seriously, i was not kidding, it would be a great compliment to the underground cabin!  I hope i can see your place some day, i really love the concept.  makes me think about the Forester Underground Gardens in Fresno, that place blows my mind!

Sassy would probaly love a big barn also!
