[cool] Nice project with great step-by-step photos.  :D :D :D

Just like a larger house in many ways - a long lasting, very sturdy "Chicken Hilton".
None of us are as smart as all of us.

A nice little house that will make happy chickens. :)

Nice Soffit vents Frank.

Thanks, I should add I'm using free, salvaged and cheap materials.  The soffit vents are going to be part of the ventilation.  I'm hoping to be able to somewhat regulate the temperature through out the year and keep it warm in the winter and cool in the summer.  Its also a warm up for my cabin project.  I'll make less mistake on the cabin if I'm lucky.

I have about a days worth of work left to do and It'll be finished.

Here's a couple picture of the progress.

Nice!

I suppose the cupola is functional?  What did you make the slats from?
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

The slats are 1"x1/2" nailed to 2"x2".  It should vent without causing much draft down low. I still have the top to put on. I hoping to find the best way to fall off a 12/12 roof before working on the cabin. The trees will shade the coop once they leaf.
