Title: PHOTOBUCKET.COM ISSUES TODAY
Post by: MountainDon on November 04, 2016, 03:40:38 PM
Photobucket has been having issues for many hours today. If you are browsing our topics and images do not display that may be the reason. The photobucket website displays a screen with the words "Hang In There!
We're down for maintenance, but we'll be back shortly."

Their Facebook page has the message....

"⚠ Scheduled Maintenance: We will be conducting maintenance on our site today from 10pm MST November 3, 2016 until 2am MST November 4, 2016. You may not be able to access your account during this time. This maintenance is being conducted to improve your overall user experience with the site. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Support Team at support@photobucket.com. Thank you for your patience and we apologize for any inconvenience this causes!"

I guess they may have run into some glitches..............

Mike I noticed that the last several times I went to their site they had a whole page of pop-up ads with a heading "continue to the site" in the upper right.  It is very possible that you might have picked it up from one of them.  I don't recall the ad pages being there before.

On a somewhat related topic I mistakenly hit one of the Google ads at the bottom of Country Plans and got a malware also.  Can't trust anyone anymore.

You found a malware site in the Google ad space on the bottom of our index page? That is not good!
Do you remember any identifiers? We can block them if we can find the poster.

It has been several weeks ago John.  It was one of those "you have 1 unread message".  My net is really bad and when scrolling it will hesitate the page up/down then jump so I had started to look at one thing and by the time my mouse settled down I was on something else.  Just so happened it was one of those bottom ads.  No harm done but thought I would let others know they are there.  I looked and the ad layouts are different now.  Before there were three or four individual boxes from left to right. Now they are laid out in one box.  Maybe they discovered it as well and changed it.

It was definately malware on photobucket site, happened several times.  Hopefully they clear it up.  It was unprompted and tried to get me to download a fake malware removal tool.

Thanks for the info on that. The bottom panel is googles' to rent out (and can be wide or smaller boxes).

Update....  I have no idea when this happened but an eagle eye member just brought this to my attention.  Forum posts that had images hosted on Photobucket now have the images appearing in the topics where they were originally placed. There is a "hosted by photobucket" watermark, but that is better than no image at all.
