Post by: ajbremer on September 17, 2011, 07:26:47 AM

Saturday Morning - September 17th, 2011 @ 7:23am Oklahoma, USA

I haven't seen a link for this here so I thought I would post it. Here is StrongTie's "Deck Framing Connection Guide" in a pdf file. It has great information in it and has been very helpful to me. Here's the link:

ED:  Moved from the General Forum to here. MD

And another related link of interest, from an engineer.

It may be interesting to note that Simpson offers several beam to post connections, only one of which side mounts beams to the posts. (page 13) DJT14 is a bracket that provides a ledge or a seat for the 2x beam/joist to sit on.

That's a good one; I have it too.   Note the suggested post sizes and the suggested post to beam/joist connections. (pages 7 & 8.)
