Anybody got Nevada Mike's email address? Or if you don't want to give it out have him send me an email.
sls.....mith...22@comcast.net Remove all the dots.
I want to see if he has any more current pics of the home he built in Alaska. I love what he started and want to see the finished product. I would like to downsize and I'm seriously considering what he built with some modifications.
Thanks for your help.

Ditto....I'd love to see some interior shots as well. My wife loves the doghouses, and I dig the wrap-around porch - great for cigars at sunset ;D
I sent a note to his registered address, but it is no longer a good address. Sorry 'bout that.
Glenn,
I sent you an email.
Thanks
Steve
Steve, I haven't rec'd the e-mail yet. Possibly it is delayed or try again or PM me here if you like.
Good News I found him. He will be posting more pics soon of his completed cabin. Real nice guy and we talked for 15 minutes or so about his cabin and his fishing in Alaska. What a life he has. 8)
Grouseman
Wow... you are persistent, Steve. Good job. Looking forward to the new pix and info. :)
Glenn,
Yes I am. 8) With a few phone calls I was in contact with him. He has a great looking cabin and I wanted to see more. Merry Christmas to everybody.

OK I am back. I was away so long my profile did not exist any more. Good thing I was not running from the Law :) So the cabin is complete from a structural standpoint and my new focus is a large garage/shop. The interior of the cabin is complete from a code compliance standpoint. Things I need to do include some type of "cabin" style banister for the stairs. I do not have a style nailed down yet. The old rough cut 2x4 on edge is getting old. I had the flooring installed upstairs last summer so the stairs come next. Perhaps the spring trip if the fishing is slow. After that we will begin covering the drywall with various types of wood.
I have gone to a Mac as of today. Once I get my pictures moved over I will post some updated pictures.
Merry Christmas to everyone!
Nice to see you back, Mike. We get lots of inquiries about your place. :)
I have heard that recently and I don't really know what to think. My cabin has been for my family and friends and I have never really thought about how others may view it. I will share whatever I can. I have had great times with my friends and family building it. I purchased the land from the university of Alaska and never regretted it! For those of you looking for the Alaskan adventure I would look into university land sales. Their prices are low and financing easy if you need it. The lifestyle however is not for everyone!! If you have questions about the cabin or Alaska please ask. Their website is www.ualand.com. We are located in the south east and they are selling lots still in the Etolin view subdivision. The community is small, extremely friendly and protective. The island is the third largest in the US with mountains, rivers and enough salt water to explore for a lifetime. The climate is mild but wet. There are no polar bears or grizzlies for that matter. I get more snow here in Nevada.

Mike,
Were patiently waiting for more pictures. :)

Welcome back Mike! Your project on the CountryPlans site (http://goo.gl/Fy4zh) is one of the all-time favorites and many people have been inspired to build their own variations.

If you have new photos or comments you want to share, you can just email them to me (john@countryplans.com) and I can add them to the Gallery page.
I have very little in the way of interior pictures as luck would have it. I will get some soon.
Mike has updated information on his Gallery page with a new photo and a narrative story of his building experience.

Clever picnic bench/table
Nevada Mike,
I really like the table idea on the porch. Well done. Great story on your update also.
If you have any other clever ideas let us see them.

Awesome view! I just ordered this plan and I can't wait to get started in the spring. Thanks for posting the pictures.

If you have questions about the cabin or Alaska please ask.
Hey Mike
Is your cabin near Craig?
I have a buddy there
He hires out his backhoe as a form of (ahem) vocation.
Here he is removing varmits from his garden.
I think a hate him a little bit more now....
